Getting Started
Creating Your Account
You can sign up using your email address, Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with Google. Once signed in, set up your profile with your name, home country, and an optional bio so other pilgrims can find and connect with you.
Starting a Camino Walk
From the Home tab, tap Start a New Camino to begin tracking your walk. Choose a route (such as Camino Francés) or create your own. The app uses GPS to track your distance and route in real-time, even when running in the background.
Location Services
WeCamino requires location access to track your walks and show your position on the map. For the best experience, allow "Always" location access so tracking continues when the app is in the background. You can change this at any time in your device's Settings > WeCamino > Location.
Features
Tracking Your Walk
Once a walk is active, the app automatically tracks your GPS position and distance. You can view your progress on the Profile tab, see your route on the Map tab, and complete your walk at any time. Your walk history is saved and contributes to community statistics.
Finding Fellow Pilgrims
The Community tab lets you discover other pilgrims on the Camino. You can search by name, see pilgrims nearby, and send friend requests. Once connected, you'll see your friends' progress on the map and in your Home feed.
Sharing Posts & Photos
Share your Camino experience with the community by posting updates and trail photos from the Home tab. You can add captions, location tags, and stage information to your posts. Other pilgrims can like and reply to your posts.
Camino Map
The Map tab shows Camino routes with your friends' current positions. You can switch between different routes (e.g. Camino Francés) and see where everyone is on the Way.
Privacy Settings
You control who sees your information. In your Profile settings, you can adjust your profile visibility (everyone, friends only, or private), hide your walking distance or home country, control activity sharing, and manage friend request permissions.
Troubleshooting
Walk tracking seems inaccurate
GPS accuracy depends on your environment — open areas give the best results. Make sure location services are set to "Always" for WeCamino, and check that Low Power Mode is off, as it can reduce GPS accuracy.
I can't sign in
If you're having trouble signing in, make sure you're using the same method you originally signed up with (Apple, Google, or email). If you used Sign in with Apple and chose to hide your email, make sure you're using the same Apple ID. If the problem persists, contact us at support@wecamino.com.
Photos won't upload
Photo uploads require an internet connection. If you're in an area with limited connectivity, the upload may fail. Try again when you have a stronger connection. Make sure WeCamino has permission to access your photo library in Settings > WeCamino > Photos.
I want to delete my account
To request account deletion, email support@wecamino.com from the email address associated with your account. We will delete your account and all associated data within 30 days, as described in our Privacy Policy.
